The metro newspaper tested out Soulmatefood’s Perform plan for a month losing a massive 7kg of pure body fat!

Martin Stevens describes his month on our Perform Menu;
“SOULMATEFOOD – Total weight loss: 7kg
I’d been going to the gym a lot but hadn’t lost weight. So I chose the ‘performance diet’, which is intended to support an exercise regime. Soulmatefood diets are bespoke and, since I’m too lardy to be a proper athlete, I was given a fat-burning programme – 2,000 calories a day, high in protein and with enough carbs to keep me going. The food is delivered every other day before 7am, except Sundays when you eat what you like.
Ingredients were consistently good – especially the meat – and my body didn’t seem to be very aware of the missing 500 calories. I went hungry only on the first evening. A typical menu would be yoghurt and oats for breakfast (alternating with something hot like turkey bacon and scrambled eggs); Thai noodles or beef teriyaki for lunch; and something solid but light for dinner (fishcakes, lasagne or pesto chicken).
The between-meal snacks were varied and tasty (muffins, brownies, smoothies, hummus dips). I was very impressed by the experience although, after the initial novelty faded, eating started to feel slightly routine. But I never got bored of the food and it never felt like a chore. It isn’t cheap but it’s an excellent service. I lost a lot of weight painlessly but still enjoyed my food. I was fat a month ago – now I’m not.”
