Anita Bhagwanda, Stylist’s beauty assistant tested ways to banish the winter blues with help from psychologist Katie Abbott, nutritionist Hala El-Shafie and Soulmatefood

After a consolation from Katie Abbott, and a discussion with Nutrition rocks Hala El-Shafie (who can be found in Urban Retreats, Harrods) Soulmatefood was asked to supply a three week plan to help with the winter fatigue.

Thoughts over the three weeks:

“The portions are smaller than I’m used to but tasty…it’s a total re-education on how to eat”

“I’m surprised at how good my food tastes. I’ve also noticed I’ve started to develop a “can-do” mentality at work The improvement in my mood is immeasurable”

The verdict:

“I’ve been totally re-educated on how important good food is to my wellbeing I’m happier, more energetic and optimistic that I can keep it up. I’m instinctively choosing foods without sugar and caffeine, and watching my alcohol intake. above all, I feel like I’m doing something positive – for me”
