In preparation for: World Championships in Melbourne
Testimonial on Soulmatefood:
“What I love about Soulmatefood is that it’s packed with exactly the correct quantities of protein, carbs, vitamins and minerals I need to help me each week throughout my strict training regime. When I get back from a long, day of training in the gym and on the track, Soulmatefood means I don’t have to be standing up in the kitchen as the food is pre-prepared for me. Not only is it simple, healthy & nutritious, but the extra rest I get from not being on my feet cooking is really important and can make all the difference when it comes to training and competing.”
Winning Silver at the Olympic Games in 2008
Ross entered the world of cycling as a senior, beginning his career at the UCI Sprint School in Aigle which he attended with fellow sprint star Victoria Pendleton back in 2002. In the same year, he won Bronze in the Team Sprint at the Commonwealth Games – his Scottish ancestry meaning he competed alongside fellow Scotsmen Chris Hoy and Craig McLean to win the medal.
Various European successes followed, and a few more Commonwealth medals, before Ross began collecting medals at the World Championships. His first two came in the form of Bronze in the Keirin and Silver for the Team Sprint back in 2007 – the latter he won again in 2008 and 2009.
Ross’ career highlight to date was winning Silver in the Keirin at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, which led to him attending the prestigious International Keirin School in Japan for some intensive training with the world’s best Keirin riders.
